Tool and Die Maker - Job Responsibilities:

Operational Planning:
- Utilize sketches, blueprints, specifications, and models to strategically plan the fabrication of dies, tools, and assemblies, prioritizing safety and operational efficiency.

Quality Assurance:
- Verify the dimensions of finished parts to ensure compliance with specifications, employing dial indicators, gauge blocks, calipers, and micrometers.

Assembly and Repair:
- Employ both hand and machine tools to assemble tool and die parts while also conducting repairs and modifications on gauges, jigs, and dies.

Work Aid Design:
- Design templates and jigs to serve as valuable work aids, streamlining the fabrication process for products and parts.

Troubleshooting and Repairs:
- Diagnose issues, troubleshoot problems, and execute repairs on tools, manually operated dies, and progressive dies.

Customer Interaction:
- Interact with external and internal customers, addressing supplier and customer concerns, and collaboratively problem-solving during the production process.

Finishing and Filing:
- File and finish workpieces with appropriate hand tools to ensure product smoothness and proper fit.

Material Selection:
- Select suitable metals and materials based on their properties, ensuring they align with project specifications.
Job Skills and Qualifications - Required:

Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent.

Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand for the duration of shifts.
- Capability to repetitively lift up to 50 pounds.

Visual Acuity:
- Excellent visual accuracy.
Preferred:
- Education and Experience:
- Completion of an apprenticeship program or trade school diploma program.
- Two to five years of prior experience in tool and die making.
- Proficiency in using CAD (Computer-Aided Design) software.
